Game 18: Penn State DuBois 13, Florida National 3 (6 innings)
Penn State DuBois broke open a close game with a seven-run third inning as they eliminated Florida National in six innings via the 10-run rule. The Lions scored a run in the first off a throwing error and Florida National answered with a pair in the second on a two-run home run by Matthew Gonzalez to take a 2-1 lead. Penn State DuBois sent up 10 batters in the third inning and scored seven runs as the Lions roared to an 8-2 lead. Jake Sikora drove in a run in the fifth and the second scored on a balk as the Lions took a 11-3 lead. They ended the game with two runs in the sixth ending with a bases loaded walk. Colby Bodtorf and Bryce Dobson had three hits apiece for Penn State DuBois, while Gino Bellantoni and Gonzalez had two each for Florida National.
Game 19: Penn State DuBois 7, Cincinnati-Clermont 4
Penn State DuBois forced a winner-take-all championship game on Friday with a 7-4 win over Cincinnati-Clermont on Friday evening. Logan Wilson doubled in Brady Bushman in the bottom of the first to put the Cougars up 1-0. The Lions evened the game with an infield single by Bryce Dobson in the top of the second. That lead grew to 3-1 in the third on RBI singles by Brett Beith and Jake Sikora. Penn State DuBois scored two more in the fourth on a fielder’s choice by Cory Lehman and an RBI single from Beith. Cincinnati-Clermont clawed back into the game with a pair of runs in the fifth on RBI singles from Jack Deeds and Bubba Allen. In the sixth, they pulled to within 5-4 on a single by Ian Wiles. The Lions scratched a pair in the top of the seventh on an RBI double from Colby Bodtorf who scored on a single from Grant Lillard. Kyle Elensky and Lillard had three hits each for Penn State DuBois, while Logan Wilson had two to lead Cincinnati-Clermont.
