SUNY ESF Women Claim USCAA Track & Field National Championship
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – SUNY-ESF scored 156 points to easily outdistance Carlow (98) and Maine-Fort Kent (89) en route to winning the 2024 USCAA Women’s Outdoor Track and Field National Championship on Saturday at American International College.
Host Hampshire College was fourth with 78.5 points and Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences was fifth with 73.5 points in the 14-team field.
SUNY-ESF had first place finishes from Aubrianna DeLario-Brown in the 400 meters (1:01.09), Savannah Kuhr in the 800 (2:27.80) and 1500 (5:12.59), Bryce Hopper in the 5000 meters (20:05.47) and 10,000 meters (43:23.49) and the 4x400 relay (4:27.91).
Carlow had first place finishers in Molly Wagner who won both the 100 (12.69) and 200 meters (26.16), along with Sydney Taylor in the triple jump (10.63m) and their 4x100 relay team (50.79).
Maine Fort Kent had first place finishes from Kamoy Brown in the javelin (28.96m), Kimberlee Bernard in the long jump (4.68m) and Georgia Burton in the shot put (11.10m).
Alena Maes-Polan accounted for 46 of Hampshire’s 78.5 points with a trio of first place finishes and a pair of seconds. She won the pole vault (3.20m), high jump (1.49m) and 100-meter hurdles (16.87). She took second in the javelin (25.69m) and 400 meter hurdles (1:23.42).
First Team All-Americans were awarded to the top 7 cumulative scorers, while second team honors went to finishers 8-14.
